Autism More Than Words®️ - The Hanen Program®️
for Parents of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Social Communication Difficulties
The More Than Words®️ Program provides practical strategies for addressing your child’s specific needs and building his communication and social skills during everyday routines and play.
The More Than Words Program is a 13 week program which includes:
A pre and post program consultation
Eight two and a half hour small group sessions
Three individual video feedback sessions which take place between the group sessions for parents
Recordings of you and your child while playing as well as consultations to discuss what's working and how to modify strategies.
You Will Learn:
What motivates your child to communicate
How to use your knowledge about your child to set appropriate and realistic goals
How to make interactions with your child last longer
Tips for using pictures and print to help your child’s understanding
Strategies for how to talk so that your child understands you
Strategies for developing your child’s play skills
Ways to help your child make friends
*All of the strategies in the More Than Words program are drawn from research and have been shown to improve the social communication skills of children on the autism spectrum.
